Text and images are treated in a similar manner under the statutory educational licence of the Copyright Act 1968.

In general, the word “text” covers:

  • literary works (excluding computer programs)
  • dramatic works
  • musical works (notation)

The word “images” includes:

  • pictures
  • photos
  • diagrams
  • drawings
  • graphs
  • plans

Tabor College pays an annual licence fee to Copyright Agency which allows staff to make certain copies without needing to seek permission from the copyright owners. This statutory licence with the Copyright Agency applies to copying of material from both print and electronic sources
